its hard to meet my own expectations

this emoji looks like its from geometry dash anyway im really unmotivated cause of how much i suck you guys remember day 11? that took me like 3+ hours to just sketch out and the pose ive been trying to do ive been doing for maybe 4+ already and am nothing close to something im happy with. apparently pose sketches are only supposed to take like less than half an hour which makes sense but damn im slow. im so behind cause ive been spending so much time on all of the ones i actually end up liking since it feels good to see something nice but it just takes way too long and spending a lot of time is the only way to get better but at the same time if i spend too little i just get used to taking the easy way out and compromising whether it be the art not looking as good or it being way simpler which is okay but i have to challenge myself on some days or i spend hours upon hours on it with the chance of it not ever looking good like it did today i just ended up scrapping it which drawing something complex and bad feels way worse than drawing something simple and good, but i want to do complex and good. and of course complex is subjective i am still scaling complex for me to a different degree than complex for someone who draws better but i still cant meet my own expectations and its either lower them or meet them and i am not willing to lower them. its really hard. im thinking the next few days im going to spend more time learning strategies to drawing poses and hopefully be able to draw them better.
